Operating three Boeing C-40A Clippers (the military variant of the 737-700C), VR-61 provides worldwide around-the-clock transport of passengers and cargo in support of all branches of the armed forces. The squadron is manned by a mix of Full Time Support and Selected Reserve sailors who maintain and fly one of the Navy's most critical — and least celebrated — mission sets: keeping the logistics pipeline flowing. VR-61 has compiled over 126,000 mishap-free flight hours, earned multiple Battle \"E\" awards and Safety \"S\" awards, and once circumnavigated the entire globe on a single logistics detachment.
